Nominations for Chair of TPS
Bill Wyley will be stepping down as Chair of TPS at our next AGM, on 24 February 2009. The TPS Board has nominated Victoria Hills, TPS Secretary, to be a successor.
However, in accordance with the TPS Articles of Association it is the Members who elect from themselves a Chair. Therefore you have an opportunity to nominate another individual for Chair. If another nomination is received there will be a ballot. If no nominations are received, Victoria’s nomination will be confirmed at the AGM.

Interested Members will need to have their nomination supported by nine Members in addition to the Proposer, and include a 150 word supporting statement stating why they should be considered for the Chair.
Completed forms need to be returned to the Board by 10am on Friday 9 January 2009.
Nominations for Board Member
There is one vacancy on the TPS Board. The three-year position would commence immediately after the February 2009 AGM.
A place on the Executive Board offers an unrivalled opportunity to influence the role and perception of the profession and the way it is represented by the TPS. If you are a committed individual, interested in helping the TPS achieve its aims, this could be the ideal role for you. Being an elected member of the Board also offers a great way to meet other like-minded professionals who want to move the transport planning agenda forward. Most of all it is enjoyable.
The commitment includes you attending six Board meetings per year and working to deliver TPS activities, so it is essential that you have the support of your employer. Interested Members will need to have their nomination supported by three Members in addition to the Proposer, and include a 150 word supporting statement stating why they should be considered for the Board.
As the TPS is a Company Limited by Guarantee, all Board Members are required to be Company Directors.
