Transport Statistics Users Group and The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Conference 2010

Royal Statistical Society, Central London

  • What are the potential impacts of the 2010 Budget and Spending Review on transport?
  • How will transport make best use of limited funding in the age of austerity?
  • What are the prospects for the coming years for transport spending?
  • How can the UK transport sector achieve greater benefits from fewer resources and facilities?
  • Are there new areas where we can increase revenue?

Taking place one month after the Spending Review, TSUG and CILT have invited leading experts from across the transport and logistics field to review the implications for transport and draw on the statistical evidence base to back up their arguments for what can be done.

The event will explore and investigate how changed policies can deal with underlying trends, problems and constraints, providing evidence that compares public benefit with public costs, and hence the degree of change which may be feasible and appropriate.

With ample time for panel discussion and questions from the audience, this event will offer a platform for transport professionals to discuss areas where important improvements can be made in the cost effectiveness and efficiency of UK transport.
