Join us for a joint event hosted with CIHT to discuss the recent Better Planning, Better Transport, Better Places report.

Led by CIHT in collaboration with TPS and RTPI, Better Planning, Better Transport, Better Places is the result of a great deal of work by professionals interested in creating better places by better integrating planning and transport.

Better Planning, Better Transport, Better Places makes recommendations for radically improving the outputs and outcomes of planning and transport by working differently and more intelligently. This starts with a clear vision to create better places for people to live in and is achieved by adopting new approaches at the strategic level and when it comes to planning individual developments. The advice also provides practical solutions to tackling the challenge of climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Derek Palmer (TPP, FCIHT, FCILT) is an economist with degrees from the Universities of Liverpool and Birmingham. He is also a qualified transport planner and project manager with considerable experience of research, policy development and practice. Derek has a thorough appreciation of the public policy issues confronting both local and national government.
