Tim Barlow
Principal Consultant, TRL
Tim will talk about emissions from petrol and diesel vehicles – how they are regulated, how they are tested for type approval and how the emissions standards have tightened over the years. He will also talk about the problems with diesel cars that have been in the news over the last year, the flexibilities available within the test and the future of the emissions type approval procedures. In additional to emissions, Tim will also discuss the growing gap between manufacturer’s fuel consumption figures and what can be achieved in real life.
Yvonne Brown
Principal Analyst, Air Quality and Climate Change, Transport for London
Yvonne will talk about the recent release of the London Atmospheric Emission Inventory, trends in the city’s air quality and continuing challenges to improve pollution. She will discuss the new Mayor’s forthcoming consultations on changes to the Ultra Low Emission Zone and Low Emission Zones and provide some insight into how TfL is using transport data to help assess the impacts of these proposals.
