Transport Planning Day campaign update

We are really excited to be announcing our People’s Award finalists at our parliamentary reception on 23rd October. This event will be an afternoon tea hosted by Transport Committee Chair, Lilian Greenwood MP who will give a speech to guests.

Currently, this event is by invitation only due to limited capacity in the Houses of Parliament. However, if you’d like to attend, please email us at tpday@tps.org.uk and we will add you to the waiting list in case a place becomes available.

Our People’s Award winner will be announced on Transport Planning Day 20th November – at an event to be held at the Institution of  Civil Engineers in London. The day will be split into two sessions:

Afternoon: 15:00 – 17:30

Bringing together communities and professionals for an interactive discussion about best practice in community engagement in transport planning and sustainable transport planning for new homes.

Speakers:

  • Will Norman, the Mayor of London’s Walking and Cycling Commissioner (keynote)
  • Daisy Narayanan, Director of Urbanism for Sustrans, currently on secondment to Edinburgh City Council to lead the Edinburgh city centre transformation programme

Evening: 17:30 – 21:00

Revealing the winners of our annual People’s Award and the first ever Transport for New Homes award to recognise recent housing developments which enable and promote walking, cycling and public transport and avoid dependence on cars.
