TPP launched in Ireland

A new initiative to support the community of transport planners in the Republic of Ireland has been launched by TPS and CIHT, who jointly run the Transport Planning Professional qualification, TPP. 

Following extensive discussions in 2016 with transport planners working in the Republic, CIHT and TPS  is seeking to support the profession by creating an initial pool of senior qualified TPPs who can then act as TPP ambassadors and mentors for others.   The TPP Senior Route fee, normally £475, will be reduced to £200 for an initial six month period to encourage applications and build the TPP-qualified pool as quickly as possible.  A similar approach was adopted when the Senior Route was launched in the UK.

“The TPP has established itself as the qualification best suited to transport planners in the UK and we look forward to welcoming our colleagues in Ireland.  We will do all we can to support and encourage the transport planning community in the Republic and a strong first cohort of TPPs.”

“Around 200 transport planners in the UK have benefited from becoming TPP-qualified since the qualification was launched by CIHT and TPS in 2009 and we want to make the same opportunity available to transport planners in the Republic of Ireland. Building a support network of senior TPP-qualified professionals will help us to achieve this as well as recognising the knowledge and expertise of those leading the profession in the Republic.
