We are recruiting for Active Travel Behaviour Change Consultants (Principal / Associate), to help deliver future mobility.

We deliver a wide range of projects that make a difference in how people use space and move around. This includes public realm improvements, sustainable transport schemes, active travel corridor improvements, behaviour change programmes and much more. We work with local, regional and national Government, Combined Authorities, Transport for London, Developers, Civil Engineering Contractors and major employers, and have an enviable reputation for delivering some of the UK’s and indeed the world’s most prestigious and challenging projects within our sector.

Job Opportunity:

Our team has the capability to deliver projects from concept to construction. We are currently:

  • Helping local authorities across the UK to design and implement strategies to support their ‘Go Dutch’ ambitions.
  • Leading public realm transformation projects, in iconic places such as London’s West End, and Birmingham City Centre, integrating the active travel network.
  • Delivering Mobility as a Service strategies.
  • Supporting major companies decarbonise their businesses focusing on the employee and business travel strategy.
  • Developing active travel strategies to ensure that facilities implemented as part of major new infrastructure are optimised.
  • Creating sustainable future mobility strategies for new developments.
  • Bringing our Dutch-experience of TDM to inform how we improve management of our transport system, especially during roadworks and for major events.    

Role Requirements:

  • Build client relationships, and with influential stakeholders
  • Work winning – pre-sales (thought leadership, speaking at conferences, web & social media content) & leading bids
  • Project delivery – manage projects and lead teams to deliver excellent results for our clients and their customers, securing repeat business
  • Mentor and develop our teams to build capability
  • Inform and develop our proposition to respond to continually evolving market needs
  • Help foster partnerships with our supply chain

Knowledge & Experience:

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience of being able to meet the role requirements
  • Sufficient and appropriate years’ relevant experience delivering travel behaviour change
  • Known and respected by clients and within the industry, recognised in this field
  • Able to development and implement contemporary travel behaviour change programmes, including programme design, interventions, monitoring, evaluation, and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience of delivering positive and sustained behaviour change for local authorities, schools/education establishments, workplace/employers, and in support of major events
  • Production of travel plans and /or personalised travel planning

Desirable

  • Experience of interventions using gamified platforms and other forms of incentivisation
  • Experience of supporting clients to create businesses cases and secure funding for behaviour change programmes/interventions
  • Travel behaviour change set in the wider context of integrated, sustainable transport, active travel, public transport including bus, park and ride and rail
  • International active-travel experience, especially from Northern Europe
  •

Qualifications:

Educated to degree level. We recognise that, in addition to Transport Planning, candidates may have qualifications from a diverse range of discipline including: Behavioural Psychology /Economics, Ethnography, Urban Design, Marketing, Social Sciences.
