Our teams have an excellent reputation for strategic traffic modelling and economic appraisal and an established track record of successfully delivering a wide variety of projects to both local and national clients. The multi-disciplinary nature of the business also means that we are able to build project teams from disciplines wider than transportation to offer clients a true ‘one-stop-shop’.
We are looking for an experienced individual in delivering and managing transport planning projects involving transport modelling, economic appraisal, business case, and cost-benefit analysis. You will work part of a wider team analyzing and appraising the impact of transport schemes and preparing or reviewing business cases to justify investment.
Supporting Project Managers in delivering strategic modelling projects
Forecasting the effects of new developments and devising strategies to cater for generated trips
Managing or carrying out all of the technical aspects of the projects including reports and calculations
Managing small and medium scale projects and monitoring of budgets and resources
Monitoring, checking and controlling work outputs/costs during the progress of the project
Supervising, assisting and mentoring team members with regards to both technical and professional development
Providing professional advice to internal and external clients as required
Assisting with the preparation of bids and other departmental marketing operations
Keeping up-to-date with current methods and the latest research in transport planning
Ensuring that due attention is paid to all aspects of the project management system in accordance with the practice’s procedures.
Successful applicants will be flexible, self-motivated and will be expected to demonstrate the following:
Strong analytical, numeracy and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication with strong report writing capability
Ability to work under pressure and proven success in meeting deadlines
Confident team worker with the ability to work independently
Experience of working to time and budget constraints.
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate technical skills and competencies commensurate with their level of experience such as:
Business case development in line with HM Treasury Green Book
Application of WebTAG and other appraisal guidance
Wider economic and productivity impact assessments
A relevant planning, economics, geography, engineering degree or similar
