Senior Transport Planner (SATURN Modelling) - Woking

Are you looking for a challenging and varied transport planning role with a major organisation?

Mouchel are seeking to recruit a Senior Transport Planner to join our Woking office where we have a large transport planning team offering a wide range of services to public and private sector clients. 

This team deals with strategic and micro-simulation modelling, scheme appraisal, development planning, business cases, parking strategy, and a variety of related topics.

The requirement is for a Senior Transport Planner specialising in SATURN modelling. There will also be the opportunity to contribute to the Transport Planning team through other inputs such as data analysis, survey planning, business cases etc.

Management of projects or sub-projects will also be required.

Role Specific Responsibilities:

• Manage projects or sub-sets of projects to quality, cost and time. • Maintain effective working relationships with team members, and staff in other internal teams.• Undertaking SATURN modelling to include model development, calibration and validation.• Transfer of knowledge to more junior staff.• Contribute to other aspects of Transport Planning, modelling & economic appraisal.              • Line Management responsibilities.         • Prepare high quality technical notes and reports.

• Numerate first degree as a minimum e.g. Transport Planning, mathematics, computing, civil engineering, geography (Transport Planning MSc candidates preferred).• Chartered or nearly chartered professional (CEng, CMILT, TPP)• Extensive experience of SATURN modelling, including network building, matrix development, calibration and validation and forecasting/option tests.• Extensive experience in the analysis and application of survey data for model development.• Experience of TUBA, COBALT, MyRIAD, S-Paramics and VISSIM would be an advantage.• Experience of assessing Wider Economic Benefits would be an advantage.• Extensive experience of WebTAG required.• Experience of managing projects or parts of projects required.• Good (written and oral) communication skills required.• Proficient in WORD and EXCEL
