The Land Development and Environment sectors are two of Arcadis’ core markets, a position they have held throughout our 150 year history, and we pride ourselves on delivering new and exciting solutions for development projects, energy and infrastructure schemes.
Our Transport Planning team is involved in some of the UK’s most complex and stimulating projects that are diverse and technically demanding, including some of the UK’s largest residential and mixed use developments including the NW Bicester Eco Town and Northstowe new town, Cambridgeshire, as well as Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects. We have a reputation for the delivery of development projects across the UK and have worked for a wide variety of national and local clients carrying out Transport Assessments, Travel and Transport Planning, Traffic Management Plans and Environmental Impact Studies to gain consent for schemes. During this time, we have been engaged on the transportation and impact aspects of Education, Health, Energy and Community Development schemes and Infrastructure proposals, delivering new and proven solutions to transportation issues.
Owing to recent contract awards, such as the HCA Multi-disciplinary framework, and as part of the enhanced opportunities from our integration with ARCADIS, we are now looking to recruit a high calibre Principal or Associate Technical Director to focus on developing our consents work in London and the South East, whilst providing solutions for a wide portfolio of schemes throughout the UK, ensuring we meet and exceed our client’s requirements.

We are seeking to locate a career minded Principal or Associate Technical Director who has experience in developing client relationships in the public and private sectors and has solid work experience of leading the transport planning aspects of gaining consents for development projects and who possesses the following credentials:

Duties & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Technical Director, you will have responsibility for developing transport planning consents work in London and the South East, whilst working alongside other transport planning colleagues and other engineering and environmental disciplines. You will provide technical leadership of assigned projects, leading transport assessments and travel plans for a wide range of developments whilst drawing on the resources of teams in London and Cardiff to deliver projects. Also, you will advise clients, oversee the preparation and submission of transport documents for planning applications and negotiate S106 and s278 agreements. You will also be responsible for project managing commissions which may be multi-disciplinary including commercial aspects and coordinating other technical inputs as well as participate in business development activities related to transport planning including building client relationships and bidding for new work.
