Senior / Principal Consultant (Transport Planning) – London

Job Description

SYSTRA is a forward-looking rail engineering and transport planning consultancy with offices across UK and Ireland. We deliver high quality, sustainable transport solutions for our clients in the public and private sectors. 

Our Transport Planning team is seeking a Senior or Principal Consultant to join our busy London office. 

This role would suit an individual who has proven experience in the technical delivery and management of projects and who is looking for the next step in their career. With support from the Transport Planning team in London and across the UK, the post holder will have responsibility for delivering a wide range of project work for strategic and local authority public sector clients. You will help to develop our business further and deliver projects for key clients - including Transport for London, Highways England, Local Enterprise Partnerships and Local Authorities. 

Skills / experience required for the role include: 

• Economic appraisal, familiarity with relevant techniques and guidance including WebTAG and TfL BCDM
• Demand forecasting
• Spreadsheet modelling
• Cost benefit analysis and economic assessment including awareness of modelling and assessment tools such as TUBA
• Operating cost forecasting
• Business case development
• Project management
• Business development

To be considered for this role, you should be degree qualified in a relevant subject (or equivalent) and be able to provide evidence of your experience in the technical delivery and management of Transport Planning projects.  You should be a team player who is willing to learn and develop their career in the company.  Previous experience in  a multi-cultural environment would be ideal, but is not essential.
