Mouchel are seeking an experienced CAD Technician to provide support to the project team by undertaking technical project tasks on time, within budget and to the agreed standards.
The successful candidate will undertake the following tasks as part of their role as a CAD Technician within the Transport Planning division based in Mouchel's Woking Office:
• Production of drawings, figures and tables for inclusion in technical reports, making use of standard MS office, CAD and potentially Geographical Information System software.• Calculations to support technical work including spreadsheet analysis of data and basic analysis using bespoke software (for which training will be provided).• Data management, analysis and presentation, including searching for and downloading information from the internet and other sources.• Liaison with other team members and suppliers and occasional assistance at on-site inspections or surveys• Management of data and information from external sources (e.g. Statutory Undertaker data) and the organisation of traffic surveys.• Collation and production of documents including proof reading, printing and binding.• To provide design/drawing support to the Transport Planning team in Woking principally through the use of AutoCAD.
The role can be full/part time - to be discussed with candidate.
Role Specific Responsibilities:
• To become fully competent with AutoCAD with respect to highway design to provide efficient and effective support as required.• Prepare technical designs in accordance with approved design procedures.• Prepare technical drawings for checking and approvals.• Potentially assist with graphics/baseline research work.• Potentially become involved in GIS analysis work.• Be a proactive and collaborative team member.• Provide the necessary CAD support to fulfil the role as AutoCAD technician.• Take responsibility for own personal development with the support of line manager and following an agreed development plan.

Qualifications
Desirable:• City and Guilds Computer Aided Design; and/or• Autodesk AUTOCAD Certification.
Knowledge & Experience:
• You will be familiar with and/or have experience of using AutoCAD.• A working knowledge of highways design and relevant design standards (DMRB, Manual for Streets) is desirable, but not essential.• Knowledge/experience of MapInfo GIS would be beneficial but not essential.• You will be fluent in written and spoken English, and IT Literate.
