About the Opportunity

The Transport Planning & Mobility Solutions at Jacobs is one of the most successful in the UK & Ireland, with a varied client base and strong pipeline of work, alongside supporting project teams across the globe.

 

We are looking for Senior Associate Director to join the Northern Transport Planning/Traffic Engineering Team. You will be based in our Manchester office and will work on local projects, whilst also interact with our colleagues across the UK&I and globally.  Whilst the role will be pointed to a base office location, our team work flexibility balancing their personal lives and project work through tailored working arrangements. For some, this means hybrid working and flexible working hours, for others this means formalized contracts to vary their hours accordingly.

 

Our local team is involved in a range of exciting and innovative projects covering all elements of transport planning including traffic modelling, economic appraisal, active modes, public transport, traffic engineering, policy & strategy formation and business case development. The Senior Associate Director Transport Planning will play a significant role in the delivery of projects and programmes working with our management team and experts to deliver at a senior level, as well as sharing your skills and knowledge by training and supporting our junior staff. You will also be given the ability to pursue relevant business interests and be involved in technical training to support your career development, as well as the freedom to grow your network and develop innovative solutions to develop new opportunities for the business.  We’re keen to hear from people with excellent working relationships with the Manchester Transport Planning industry in Transport for Greater Manchester, Greater Manchester Combined Authority and Transport for North. 

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • You will be degree qualified in a relevant discipline (or equivalent); you will have significant experience in the transport planning field with the ability to contribute to the success of a range of high profile transport projects
  • You will be a creative, solution-oriented individual, with a strong technical background, solid understanding of transport planning fields and demonstrable success of a range of high profile transport projects
  • In-depth knowledge / understanding of a number of transport planning fields, such as business case development, scheme feasibility, transport assessments and/or modelling
  • Experience of providing technical leadership, successfully managing projects and acting in a client-facing capacity
  • Project Management experience demonstrating responsibility for task, financial and risk controls
  • Flexibility to manage diverse workload, assist with new business opportunities and embrace emerging technologies, product solutions and the future evolution of the industry
