Senior Aviation Analyst

Job Description

Our exciting new role in the Aviation Advisory and Data Analytics/Forecasting team will mean that our new employee can demonstrate an ability to conduct forecasting, airport capacity optimisation and analysis alongside responsibilities such as establishing project scope and managing scope control whilst managing often complex multi-disciplinary projects and their stakeholders. You'll also be delivering capacity analysis projects, modelling and detailing facility requirements and level of service outcomes, building and using airport simulation modelling tools and techniques whilst using your understanding of aviation market data sources to identify their respective uses and suitability for internal and external use

As part of your role, you are likely to get involved with the following tasks:

•             Commercial and contractual management discussions•             Engaging with aviation clients, demonstrating excellent knowledge assimilation and applying this to project assignments•             Writing high quality technical and market related reports and proposals and presenting project material to colleagues and clients•             Provide guidance and support to Aviation Analysts in their development of Analytical projects for airports in the UK and around the world;•             Further develop in-house built Forecasting Tools•             Manage internal benchmarking databases across the aviation community to best serve our projects by facilitating users to access pertinent information•             Start to directly manage projects as both a Technical Lead and Project Manager to support your development in line with your experience•             Oversee possible future additional junior staff and mentor their development in best practice forecasting and data analytics•             Develop best practice user guides on all the analytical concepts and projects in which we work as a team•             Lead the engagement and management of subconsultants•             Undertake line management duties (where applicable as this may not immediately be the case)•             Undertake client visits both domestically and abroad in support of project delivery and client relationship development and enhancement  

 So, what kind of person are we looking for?Well, a key element necessary to be successful in this role is the ability to deliver both forecasting and capacity optimisation / analysis – although we'd certainly encourage applications from candidates that may only have one of these two skills. Additionally, we’ll need to see knowledge and a proven track record delivering detailed air market and traffic forecasting reports, describing risks and suitability as well as knowledge of air market historical and planned development at a global, regional and local level. You'll need to be able to travel and work overseas (sometimes at short notice) as required.This specification in combination with the job description accurately describes the responsibilities of this person and what we expect to see in the successful candidate.

•             An engaging leadership style•             A can-do attitude•             The willingness to undertake tasks that may not always be the most exciting but are critical to the success of the projects•             The ability to engage as part of a multi-disciplinary team and a diverse range of projects.•             A methodical and numerical approach to problem solving and critical thinking.•             The ability to lead projects independently•             An ability to work under a flexible (agile) working arrangement both in office and remotely.•             Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and colleagues. •             Excellent written communication and attention to detail, being able to oversee the development of excel models and PowerPoint presentations.•             Advanced user of Word, PowerPoint and Excel (Power BI desirable).•             Demonstrated ability to code in different but progressive programming languages including, but not limited to, R and Python as well as SQL•             Experience with other software including AviPlan, Infraworks, Navisworks, Revit and/or 3D visualisation tools will be favourably considered.
