BWB Consulting are recruiting Graduate Transport Planners to join our teams in our Manchester office.

About the Job

You will be learning to support the delivery of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Masterplans and other technical reports to support planning applications. You will be fully supported by our experienced team of Transport Planners and technicians. Working on smaller projects that allow you to develop your practical skillset, progressing to working independently on larger and more challenging projects. You will learn to have an understanding and ability to apply appropriate technical standards (such as Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Manual for Streets and Local Authority Design Guides).

Within the Transport and Infrastructure Group, our Planning Team offers a wide range of services to complement the activities of the Group and the company as a whole, as well as providing bespoke services to our clients. We take pride in successfully working with Clients on a range of private and public sector projects, big and small. This ranges from national significant projects, large logistic and employment developments, city centre regeneration. new settlements, office developments, schools and college redevelopments, residential and many other land uses as well as delivering sustainable and safe infrastructure.

About you

  • A relevant degree in an analytical subject such as engineering, geography, mathematics or in your final year studying towards this
  • Keen to share your ideas about how we can do things better 
  • Great communication skills developed through well-rounded life experience - academically, socially and in any previous work situations
  • Enthusiastic and ambitious to learn and progress 
  • A problem solver with strong communication skills 
  • Personal organisation skills, and the ability to work well within a team 
  • Right to Work and live in the UK
  • A knowledge of AutoCAD and other industry software
  • Applicants with some work experience in the Engineering or Transport industry, either through work experience or as part of an academic course, are ideally sought
