Read about our new TPS TPP qualified members.

John Rider was successful in his TPP Professional Review in May, and so now is among the growing group of professionally qualified transport planners.  John is Head of Transport Strategy in Mott MacDonald’s Integrated Transport Division.  With a transport Masters from Cardiff, he has worked for BAA, DfT, Tower Hamlets and Surrey during the course of his career.

TPS members who have been awarded the qualification by the Senior Route include Claudia Currie, Nasar Malik, Steve Miller, Keith Mitchell, Tom van Vuren and Keith Youngman.

Claudia Currie is with Jacobs and chaired the Working Group that developed the TPP qualification.

Nasar Malik is with Atkins and is a TPP Reviewer.

Steve Miller has recently joined Atkins from TfL where he was Traffic and Transport Planning Manager for Major Projects.

Keith Mitchell, a Partner of Peter Brett Associates, is a past TPS Chair, chaired the Transport Planning Skills Initiative and is Chair of the TPP Professional Standards Committee as well as a Director of GoSkills, the Sector Skills Council for transport planning.

Tom van Vuren is a Director of Mott MacDonald in Birmingham, Chair of the Association for European Transport (AET) Board, and a Visiting Professor at the Institute for Transport Studies at Leeds University and is one of the “movers and shakers” involved in the West Midlands Masters course run by Napier University.

Keith Youngman, who has a long career with Hertfordshire and now Mouchel, has been responsible for implementing the TPS Professional Development Scheme within Mouchel and encouraging their transport planners to seek the qualification.

Many congratulations!
