The Transport Systems Catapult (TSC) created an engagement tool called the Manchester Table  in 2014 and has been using this tool to engage with visitors ever since

 One of the capabilities of the table is to allow users, through an engaging user interface, to interact with a strategic transport model of Manchester.  During pre-programmed customer journeys, special pucks can be moved over a touchscreen representing different events (e.g. road works, park and ride schemes, increasing train or bus frequency) and the effects can be seen and quantified.  A video of the demo can be found here

Throughout the TSC’s first year we have had a lot of positive feedback from our visitors about the Manchester Table and we are considering initiating some collaborative research to develop an Intelligent Mobility Table (IMT) to create a commercially available product.
