New Member of the TPP Professional Standards Committee

Steve Miller TPP has been appointed as one of the Society’s nominees on the TPP Professional Standards Committee.  One of the earlier TPP candidates, Steve is now an experienced Reviewer, undertaking TPP Professional Review Interviews.  He retired a couple of years ago after a career in both the public and private sectors – having most recently been with Atkins and TfL, working on developing models to provide passenger forecasts for HS2 and the impacts of it on public transport in and around London.

Steve said ‘Having retired, I hope to have the time and energy to give something back to the profession that I’ve worked in for most of my career. The TPP qualification should become the qualification of choice for our industry – for all parties’.

There are eight members of the TPP Professional Standards Committee, four nominated by the Society and four by CIHT.  The Committee is responsible for setting and maintaining the requirements for award of the TPP and for making decisions on its award. Steve replaces Gilly Otlet TPP, who has stood down after being a member of the Committee since 2009, and having made a major contribution to its work on assessing and approving transport Masters courses.
