Transport for London (TfL) is overseeing the delivery of £35bn of improvements across London’s transport network. It’s the largest such investment for decades and will profoundly shape London for the future.

The Programme is based around the key priorities described in the Mayor’s Transport Strategy (published for consultation in October 2009). Of course, with a programme of such magnitude, we need to make sure that it’s delivered in an efficient and cost-effective way, so that both travellers and taxpayers can see the value for money they’re getting.

Which is why we created an Advisory Group for the programme, to ensure everything is done on time and on budget. The Group will be made up of highly experienced industry figures, with the strong client side experience needed to act as an independent, impartial advisor on some of our most significant projects. Those projects include our massive development plans for the tube, involving new trains, signalling and track and creating 30 per cent more capacity across the network, the development of 12 cycle superhighways, the expansion of the Overground, major development of many of our key stations, and significant improvements to the road network.

Joining the Group, you will be right in the heart of the programme. You’ll support the Mayor, the TfL Board and their relationship with the Department for Transport by providing expert advice on the development and implementation of these projects and the overall delivery of the investment programme. Making it an incredible opportunity to make a fundamental impact on the flow of people around London.

A chartered member of a relevant institution, you will have an excellent reputation in your field and experience of leading the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects. Substantial technical and commercial expertise will also be required. And, as these are independent advisory roles, it’s important that you can show how you would manage any potential conflicts of interest.
