Manchester Airport City is the proposed £659 million expansion of Manchester Airport. The plan will follow an airport city model, with the overarching aim of stimulating the Greater Manchester economy by creating on-site logistics, manufacturing, office and leisure facilities. Manchester will become the first airport in the United Kingdom to build a dedicated Airport City.

The proposed A6 to Manchester Airport Relief Road and the extension of the Metrolink network are two vitally important transport schemes for the region which will both directly serve Manchester Airport. This event will highlight the associated challenges of delivering these transport schemes as well as specifically examining how they will provide the necessary networks to ensure that the airport city proposals can be met.

Three presentations by:

  • John Twigg ((Planning Director, Manchester Airport);
  • Jim McMahon (Service Director – Major Projects, Stockport Council); and
  • Tom Beamon (Metrolink Development Manager – Transport for Greater Manchester)...

...will be followed by a question and answer session.

We look forward to seeing you there – members and non-members welcome.  This event is free to attend and lunch will be provided.

CPD certificates for TPS members will be available.
