Our three latest Bursary Award papers were presented this week to the TPS Board.

Billy Parr from the London Borough of Waltham Forest presented his paper on the implications for transport planners of the government's response to the Stern and Eddington reports

Chris Mason from Hyder gave us his analysis of 'Peak Oil' and the impact it might have on transport usage and transport planning.

Sarah Fish from Capita Symonds gave us her views on whether it is necessary to have a more female-inspired transport agenda and, if so, what should it be.

Copies of all the papers are in our online library and can be read by clicking here

The successful completion of their papers wins them a prize of £500 each.

Our thanks go to their mentors: Tony Bolden, Richard Walker and Gemma Stern.

Up to five bursaries are offered every year ‘to allow younger members of the Society time to conduct a piece of structured thought on a topic of current relevance to transport planning, which might not otherwise be undertaken’.

Keep a look out on the website for details of the 2009 round and how you can take part.
