The  Transport  Practitioners’  Meeting  (TPM)  supported by TPM  is  now  11  years  old  and  has  matured  into  the  UK  and  Ireland's  industry  leading  annual  meeting  place  for highways,  traffic  and  transport  practitioners. The conference is focused on the issues of universal importance to the transport industry and its multi-streamed format allows participants access to the papers and workshops on a huge range of topics, from appraisal and funding, to smarter choices, transport planning, policy and infrastructure development. With social programs such as the pre-conference drinks receptions, awards ceremony  and  dinner,  TPM 2013  aims  to  bring  together  over  300  participants  from  the public, private and third  sectors to keep  up-to-date  with  policy  issues, research findings and best practice across a broad  spectrum.

The  conference  is  aimed  at  transport  planners,  engineers,  urban  transport designers,  managers  and  anyone  involved  in  strategy  development  and delivery  of  transport  services  from  the  public  and  private  sectors.  It  is designed  to  provide  a  platform  for  sharing  best  practice  in  order  to  develop the  profession.  TPM  also  encourages  the  involvement  of  younger  members of  the  profession  as  a  way  of  enhancing  their  career  development.
Unlike other transport conference organisers PTRC has not increased attendance rates for three consecutive years. This makes TPM an excellent value for money conference for funding challenged organisations.
