With £20m+ of Local Sustainable Transport Funding recently awarded, the refurbishment of Liverpool Central Station and the introduction of Walrus the smart card ticket for Merseyside along with other several key projects concerning local transport in Merseyside, it is a busy time for Merseytravel.

Cllr Liam Robinson is the newly appointed chair of Merseytravel and will give a presentation and take questions on these matters and the future for public transport in Merseyside.

Cllr Liam Robinson is a councillor for the Kensington and Fairfield Ward, Liverpool and is chair of the City’s Audit and Accounts Committee.  In 2012 he was elected chair of Merseytravel (Merseyside’s Integrated Transport Authority).  He has held a number of management positions in the Bus, Coach and Rail sectors including managing 3 of Britain’s largest railway stations: Liverpool Lime Street, London Liverpool Street and Sheffield.
