6.00pm, Monday 27th June 2011

Colin Buchanan and Partners, 20 Eastbourne Terrace, London, W2 6LG

Speaker:
Gavin Gaunt
, Head of Project Modelling and Appraisal, DfT

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED.

In conjunction with the CILT Transport Planning Forum, we are delighted to offer the opportunity to hear DfT’s Gavin Gaunt speak about the new transport business case and appraisal guidance announced by the Department in April.  The new guidance reflects changes in the way the business case for major investments will be assessed by the DfT and it is therefore important that we, as transport planners, understand the new framework and processes.  Gavin will talk about the five cases that together make up the business case, the new Early Assessment and Sifting Tool (EAST), and changes to WebTAG.  After the presentation, there will be an opportunity to ask questions of Gavin and to debate the whole issue of transport investment and appraisal.

Gavin Gaunt is head of the Project Modelling and Appraisal team at the DfT. He was a member of the Eddington Transport Study team, and more recently programme managed the NATA Refresh. He is now responsible for the development of transport modelling expertise within the Department and the production and dissemination of guidance via WebTAG.
