Non-members are invited to join the event for the Annual Lecture from 19.00 onwards in the Godfrey Mitchell Lecture Theatre, for a 19.15 start.
Following the AGM there will be the Annual Lecture, this year on ‘Making the Case for Major Public Transport Schemes’ from Martin Knowles, 2010 TPS Transport Planner of the Year.
Since he joined Surrey County Council, Martin has been a driving force behind the three major schemes that the county is promoting - Guildford Hub, Reigate-Redhill Hub and Airtrack. Martin’s pragmatic approach has overcome various challenges that have been faced on all of three projects, and his energy, enthusiasm and leadership have served to inspire and motivate colleagues around him.
Martin will speak about his experiences in promoting these major schemes, highlighting the challenges he has faced and how he and his team have continued to make the case for investment in these projects. Martin will also update us on where these projects now stand, and give us his thoughts on how the current financial constraints have affected delivery programmes and what steps Surrey CC is taking to continue to promote the schemes.

Following the lecture all attendees will be invited to join the Board for drinks in a nearby pub – details to be confirmed on the night.
