Election of Chairperson & Call for Nominations to the Board

The term of the current TPS Chair, Victoria Hills, comes to an end at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in February. We therefore seek nominations from members for a new Chairperson.

There are also three vacancies on the TPS Board. The positions would commence immediately after the AGM on 23 February 2011. The role of Chair is a two year position and Board members are elected for an initial three year term.

A place on the Board offers an unrivalled opportunity to influence the role and perception of the profession and the way it is represented by the TPS. If you are a committed individual, interested in helping the TPS achieve its aims, this could be the ideal role for you.

The commitment includes you attending six Board meetings per year and actively participating in the management of the Society’s activities. It is therefore essential that you have the support of your employer. Interested Members will need to have their nomination supported by nine Members (for the role of Chair) or three Members (to become an elected Board member) in addition to their Proposer. Please note, as the TPS is a Company Limited by Guarantee, all Board Members are required to be Company Directors. Completed nomination forms and a 150 word supporting statement need to be returned to the Board by 10am on Friday 7th January 2011.

Please note that the deadline for receiving nominations to the Board has been extended to 10am on Monday 10th January 2011.

Should we receive more nominations than spaces available on the Board, a member ballot will be held prior to the AGM.
