The Comprehensive Spending Review (CSR), published on 20th October, will have far reaching implications for transport planning in the coming years. This event will provide an opportunity for transport professionals to hear from (and debate the issues with) two speakers who are well qualified to review the impact (and opportunities arising from) the review at the national and local level.

Our speakers are:

Andrew Price, Associate Director and Chief Economist Halcrow. He has 18 years experience as a transport economist working in the roads, rail, aviation and maritime sectors. Prior to joining Halcrow, Andrew led the UK’s Department for Transport (DfT) Refresh of its NATA transport appraisal guidance, as part of the development of Department’s new long term approach to transport planning in response to Sir Rod Eddington’s 2006 seminal transport study. He led the 2000 and 2002 Transport Spending Review bids and the financial analysis for the £180 billion Transport 10 Year Plan.

Huw Jenkins, Merseytravel’s Corporate Policy Manager. He is a Chartered Town Planner by background and has 15 years experience working in local authority land use planning and transport planning departments. He has worked for Merseytravel since November 2005, where he co-ordinates input to the Merseyside Local Transport Plan and
associated public transport, land use, ‘smarter choices’ and equality and diversity policies.

We look forward to seeing you at this event (which is free to attend) – members and non members welcome.
