Transport Planning Employers are committed to training.

Despite the serious downturn, the Universities’ Transport Partnership newsletter, The Right Lines, reports in its latest issue that spending on skills’ development has been protected by transport planning consultancies, despite financial pressures caused by economic conditions and that, in some cases investment in training has even been stepped up.

Andy Southern, Atkins’ Managing Director Transport Planning and Management, told James Dark, The Right Lines’ editor. 'There is a widely held view that there will be a need for more investment in people and skills to better enable the industry to manage, operate and maintain our existing infrastructure assets.'
