Based in Norwich, the East of England Region is being led by Chris Blake, of Mott MacDonald, and Tony Doyle, of Kingdom Transport Planning.  The Region’s launch meeting will be a meeting on Tuesday 12 October at Norfolk County Hall, when the Society’s Skills Director, Martin Richards, will be leading a discussion on Professional qualifications for and Development for Transport Planners.

The focus relaunch of the Society in Scotland will be a lecture by Dr David Quarmby CBE in Edinburgh on Wednesday 3 November.  A TPS member, Dr Quarmby has a long and illustrious career in transport, starting as a transport modeller and including times as Managing Director of London Buses, Chairman of Docklands Light Rail and Deputy Chairman on the Strategic Rail authority.  He is currently Chairman of both the RAC Foundation and Edinburgh Napier University’s Transport Research Institute’s Advisory Board.  Further details will be announced shortly. 

Dr Quarmby’s lecture is being preceded by meetings on Professional qualifications for and Development for Transport Planners in Glasgow, at Transport Scotland, on Tuesday 5 October at 12.30pm and in Edinburgh, at City Chambers, on Wednesday 6 October at 1.00pm, both of which will be led by the Society’s Skills Director, Martin Richards .  Anyone wishing to attend either meeting should let Stephen Canning, scanning@mvaconsultancy.com know.
