TPS is pleased to announce the launch Transport Planning Day 2024.
See all the current vacancies.
Open to all those studying or working in transport planning, or related fields, on a professional basis.
There has been considerable interest in recent years in the development of ‘teleworking’ (primarily, but not exclusively, working from home rather than a conventional workplace provided by the employer).
In principle, this could substantially reduce commuting, by eliminating the home to work return trip.
In practice, impacts are somewhat more complex – for example, many people may wish to work part of their time as teleworkers, rather than undertake all their work on this basis. In addition to impacts on the transport system, cost and benefits to workers and employers may be identified, and potential impacts on staff productivity.
These issues will be illustrated from work undertaken jointly by the Universities of Westminster, University College London and Imperial College London, together with further studies, and reference to published work by others.
When: 15 September 2010, 18:00
Where: University of Westminster, Regent Campus, London
The principal speaker will be Peter White, Professor of Public Transport Systems at the University of Westminster.
