TPS is pleased to announce the launch Transport Planning Day 2024.
See all the current vacancies.
Open to all those studying or working in transport planning, or related fields, on a professional basis.
Most of the 20 organisations using the TPS Professional Development Scheme (PDS) participated in a TPS PDS Workshop on 24 June.
Two users described the procedures they had applied in rolling out the TPS PDS around their various offices, leading to a discussion on both the initial roll out and maintaining momentum. Another user described how they are planning to monitor the progress of individuals through the TPS PDS, based on a spreadsheet used by both participants and their mentors, which was sent to all licensees following the meeting.
There were also discussions on the revised TPS PDS requirements and the links between the TPS PDS and TPP qualification, the main target for many of those on the TPS PDS. A part of the discussion focused on a draft 'Frequently Asked Questions' document, which the Society will publish in July.
The possibility of regional TPS PDS mentor training sessions was raised, with Scotland (Edinburgh or Glasgow) and the North (Leeds or Manchester) being seen as the main locations. The Society is now considering running two regional sessions in the autumn.
There are now over 150 transport planners participating in the TPS PDS, with more joining as recent licensees implement it.
The next TPS PDS Workshop will be held on Monday 13 December at One Great George Street, London. The Workshops are open to all those responsible for managing the TPS PDS within their organisation, providing an opportunity to share experience.
