Open to all those studying or working in transport planning, or related fields, on a professional basis.
Following publication of Way to Go! and his Statement of Intent, the Mayor is due to formally publish his draft Transport Strategy for public consultation in the Autumn of 2009.
This event is taking place at 1800 for 1830 -2000 on Wednesday 2nd December 2009 at the offices of Arup at 8 Fitzroy Street, London.
The speaker will be Michele Dix from Transport for London.
Michèle Dix, who has led TfL’s work on this on behalf of the Mayor, will set out the key objectives of the Strategy, describe how the Mayor intends to deliver on his priorities at a time of increasing funding pressures, and consider the role of the boroughs, Central Government and other key stakeholders in delivering integrated transport across the Capital.
She will be available to take comments and questions on key aspects of the Strategy ahead of the conclusion of public consultation and final publication in early 2010.
Michèle is Managing Director of Planning at Transport for London and played a leading role in the introduction of the Central London Congestion Charging Scheme in 2003. She retains a pivotal role leading TfL’s strategic thinking on the future transport needs of London, testing and challenging policies and providing clear direction on appropriate transport solutions for the future.
This event is organised jointly by the Institution of Highways and Transportation and the Transport Planning Society.
