Tuesday 24th April 2008, 17:30 for 18:00 start.

The IHT, in partnership with TPS, have recently launched a new Transport Planning qualification. The IHT Branch and TPS Region are delighted to welcome Martin Richards who will be giving a presentation on the new qualification.

The qualification enables transport planners to gain recognition for their particular technical skills and knowledge in the same way that CEng recognises professional engineers. The access routes are designed to allow transport planners from any academic background to work towards the qualification.

Martin will briefly outline the background to the qualification, the competence standards, assessment procedures and the arrangements for the pilot assessments.

We want to cast the net as widely as possible so anyone with an interest is most welcome, you don't need to be a member of IHT or TPS to come along. Those who may be interested in attending include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Individuals who wish to become professionally qualified Transport Planners and potential mentors;
  • Practicing Transport Planners and their employers (both public and private sectors, organisations/firms of all sizes and across the different modes);
  • University students, lecturers and careers advisors - both those involved in specific Transportation course, as well as those on other relevant undergraduate courses;
  • Anyone with an interest in finding out what the new qualification is about.

Refreshments will be provided.

Non-members welcome.
