TPS is pleased to announce the launch Transport Planning Day 2024.
See all the current vacancies.
Open to all those studying or working in transport planning, or related fields, on a professional basis.
TPN has been quiet due to network restructuring work following the Covid-19 pandemic. The transport planning sector itself has however remained busy. In the last few months alone, the Levelling UP and Regeneration Bill received Royal Assent, the Second National Instructure Assessment (NIA2) was launched and the government announced its decision to cancel HS2’s northern leg.
As we relaunch the TPN newsletter, we hope to provide more concrete policy updates as well as to encourage knowledge exchange among members. Hence, we are introducing a column where the Department for Transport gives updates on their current work and a space for members’ contribution.
The theme for this issue is Net Zero and Transport Planning. Joanna Ward, Vice Chair of the TPN, writes about how improvements in our transport systems will not only help us achieve our Net Zero target, but also build a more inclusive society. Going forward, we invite our wider members to share their thoughts on a range of themes.
