TPS - Call for Nominations to the Board

TPS is seeking nominations from members for up to four Elected Director positions on the TPS Board.

Board Directors are elected for an initial three year term, which will commence immediately after the AGM in March.

Being a Director is a unique and rewarding experience, putting you at the heart of the transport planning community. Directors have a key role in supporting the Society and helping it achieve its mission of facilitating, developing and promoting knowledge, understanding and best practice in transport planning.

The Board provides overall governance oversight of the TPS but Board members are also actively involved in the delivery of key activities, with Board members leading on designated workstreams.  These are:

  • Skills;
  • Policy;
  • Finance;
  • Membership;
  • Events;
  • Communications;
  • Regions and Nations;
  • Equality, Diversity and Inclusion;
  • Corporate Partners;
  • Public Sector Partners;
  • Academic Partners

New Members will need to contribute to the Board once elected, taking responsibility for a discrete area either on their own or in partnership with another Board member.  Changes to the Board means there will be opportunities to lead on Events, Corporate Partners and Public Sector Partners.

All TPS members are welcome to apply - the only prerequisite is that you are a committed individual, interested in helping TPS progress and develop as a society. A place on the Board offers an unrivalled opportunity to influence the role and perception of the profession and the way it is represented by the Society.

The deadline for nominations is 5pm on Thursday 30th January. Further details can be found here.
