Second TPP success for TPS Aotearoa New ZealandSarah Loynes

Sarah Loynes has just been awarded the Transport Planning Professional (TPP) and chartered title through the Senior Route.  She is the second person from New Zealand to do so, joining her colleague Jo Draper who completed in September.  Sarah has been working as a transport planning professional for over twenty years, in New Zealand and formerly in the UK.  She is currently working for Waka Kotahi, the NZ Transport Agency.  Sarah is part of the TPP pilot group in New Zealand, and only the second person outside the UK to use the Senior Route pathway.

Sarah is also a founder member and committee member for TPS Aotearoa New Zealand.  This has resulted from the TPP international pilot programme, jointly run overall by TPS and CIHT.  Together with her colleagues she is now actively working to promote the TPP qualification in New Zealand.

Sarah said:

“I am incredibly happy to receive this confirmation of my success via the Senior Route to use the title of Transport Planning Professional. It’s been on my ambition list for at least the last 10 years! My goals in gaining this qualification are to raise the profile of transport planning as a profession and to work with the next generation of transport planners to make lives and places better for the benefit of people and the planet.”

Keith Buchan, TPS Skills Director said:

"Congratulations to Sarah for her achievement, she is another New Zealand trailblazer for transport planning in general and the TPP in particular.  She has been a key member of the growing TPS group in New Zealand which has so enthusiastically embraced the international pilot and we look forward to many more following her and Jo’s excellent example.”
