Transport Planning Professional (TPP) candidate reviews are held twice a year, in May and November. Results have just been announced for May 2023. TPS Skills Director, Keith Buchan, said:
“It’s great to see the latest additions to the TPP family – they are the evidence of the growing status of our transport planning profession with its increasing number of TPPs and CTPPs. We continue to work to create pathways to the TPP, in particular with the PDS and Emma Jolly was a successful PDS completer in 2020. She is one of the three transport planners from that year’s cohort who have now gained their TPP. Since then the PDS completions have more than doubled and continue to rise so we look forward to seeing a growing number of TPPs moving forwards through this route.”
The Transport Planning Professional (TPP) qualification is run jointly by the Transport Planning Society (TPS) and the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) to recognise the competence of transport planners. Through a Portfolio of Evidence and Professional Review interview, candidates must show they have the knowledge, skills and experience to demonstrate a sufficient depth and breadth of competence in transport planning. Candidates must first either complete an approved transport planning MSc, the PDS, or a Portfolio of Technical Knowledge.
