Keith Youngman, TPS PDS Review Manager, retires.
TPS would like to express its very sincere thanks to Keith Youngman who is stepping down after ten years as PDS Review Manager.
In a farewell statement Keith said
"Since retiring from professional employment 10 years ago I have been privileged to work, with others, on the development and implementation of the TPS Professional Development Scheme (PDS). During that time we have revised the scheme documentation a couple of times to make it more understandable and achievable without losing the necessary standards. There are now 15 young professionals who have completed PDS with some having already progressed to TPP.
With the introduction of PDS reviews in 2014 I became the PDS Review Manager which has lead me to meet very many young trainees in the early years of their careers and it has been so reassuring to encounter so many brilliant, competent and motivated trainees - and to know the future of the profession is in such good hands. Secondly, it has been rewarding to leave a day’s review and know how the advice that has been given and the wisdom that has been passed on, has been so positively received. It has been marvellous to pass on my experience to a future generation.
TPP and PDS as a route to the qualification is still very young compared to other professional qualifications and their training schemes. Although much has been done in recent years to improve the processes, there is still work to be done. If you can help manage and develop this work further then I am sure TPS would like to hear from you – the rewards are extremely worthwhile!"
