Early career professionals research competition relaunches for 2022/23

After a successful inaugural year, the Future Transport Visions Group (FTVG) is now inviting early career professionals from across the transport sector to submit research ideas for funding through the Rees Jeffreys Road Fund.

FTVG is an annual competition that encourages people across the transport industry to explore the challenges and opportunities posed by ongoing changes in the world around them and form collaborative project teams based around shared areas of interest.

There are many different ways to get involved. You can submit your idea as an individual or as a group, or you can simply sign up to join a team you think has an interesting topic. Entrants are grouped into cross-sector teams to apply for research funding to take their idea forward. Previous participants welcomed the opportunity to expand their horizons and gain experience outside their day job;

 “As someone in the early stages of their career, this project not only allowed me to broaden my knowledge on future mobility, but also expand my network outside my home office and collaborate with other like-minded professionals from other organisations and locations.” – FTVG Participant 2020/21

Projects that receive funding will have eight months to see their project through to completion and present their findings to the FTVG Steering Group to compete for the Outstanding Project Award.  Last year’s winners, the Gender Equality Toolkit in Transport (GET-IT) have since gone on to present at several conferences and webinars, and have received additional funding to take their idea further.
