Ben Patey successfully completes Transport Planning Society PDS

Many congratulations to Ben Patey from WSP Manchester who has successfully completed the PDS. He can now use the post nominal IncTP and is the third PDS completion from WSP, and the twelfth to have their final review conducted by videoconference since the pandemic began. This is now the norm for both final and first PDS reviews.

Ben said:

'I’m really pleased to have successfully completed the PDS, which supported and challenged me to gain an appreciation and experience of the various areas across transport planning in my early career in order to demonstrate all of the required objectives and competencies for the scheme. The society was supportive throughout my time on the scheme, including providing guidance and support through the progress reviews and the final review process. I feel that completing the PDS scheme has provided me with a strong foundation for the future including working towards Chartership.'

Keith Buchan, TPS Skills Director said:

"Congratulations to Ben for his achievement, we welcome him to the growing community of transport planners who have completed PDS and can now also use the title Incorporated Transport Planner: IncTP. As ever with final reviews we provide advice on moving forward to TPP, which he fully intends to do. Despite the many personal and working challenges caused by Covid we are now seeing a return in demand for first and final reviews and with the launch of Version 4 later last year we look forward to many more trainees following Ben’s example and coming forward in the next few months. We are always ready to provide advice and support. Please get in touch!”
