The Transport Planning Society is delighted to announce that five Young Professionals have been nominated for Bursaries in the 2018 TPS Bursary Competition.
Each will research their chosen topic fitting with the overall theme of:
‘Transport Planners and other disciplines – Better Together’
They will each submit a 5000 word paper by 31 December.
The successful Bursarians for this year are :
Natasha Smithson (AECOM - Planning for new towns: finding the balance between private car use and future sustainable transport modes

Each Bursarian will receive £500 on producing a satisfactory paper and presenting it to the TPS Board. The best paper will also be awarded a prize for “Bursary of the Year” and an additional £250, to be presented at the TPS AGM in 2019.
TPS is providing a mentor for each successful applicant to provide insight, guidance and assurance, and the completed paper may be disseminated by the Society more widely, if appropriate.
We are currently in the process of appointing mentors and wish all of our 2018 Bursarians the best of luck with their work.
