19th Annual Transport Practitioners Meeting Review

The 19th Annual Transport Practitioners meeting, organised by PTRC Education and Research Services, took place on the 7th – 8th July with 260 attendees taking part in the event.

This year the event focused on how we can emerge from the Covid 19 pandemic as ‘superheroes’, to build transport systems, and a world that is better then what we had before.

TPS was a sponsor of the event with many of our board members and bursarians taking part in the sessions.

Stephen Bennett, the former Chair of TPS, received the Transport Planner of the year Award. We’re delighted Steve has been recognised for all his hard work and for everything he does for the profession.

Our Chair, Mark Frost, also presented the award for the Best Paper by a Young Professional to Lauren James. Her paper - Paving the Road to Accessibility: the need for inclusive transport policy to enable cycling accessibility for all, no matter of ability, or disability. A Case Study of London - was extremely insightful and we’re excited to see what the future holds for Lauren.

The event was a great success and we are already looking forward to 20th Transport Practicioners Meeting in 2022!
