The London Borough of Bexley is the latest local authority to sign up for TPS’s Professional Development Scheme.

 

Bexley Council’s PDS Manager, Tiff Lynch said, “We have one graduate who is very keen to get started on the PDS right away, with more to come in due course.  We have had big problems recruiting qualified transport planners in the past.  Now, we can recruit graduates into career grade posts and support their professional development through the PDS.  I think that will help the Council enormously with both recruitment and retention.”

 

Keith Buchan,TPS Skills Director],said, “We are delighted to welcome Bexley to the PDS which is the industry standard and we are pleased to be extending that to local authorities.  The PDS provides a structured framework to enable younger transport planners to progress towards becoming true professionals, with the breadth and depth of competence required for them to excel in their work.”
