CIHT, in collaboration with TPS and RTPI, believe in radically improving the outputs and outcomes of planning and transport by working differently and more intelligently. This starts with a clear vision to create better places for people to live in and is achieved by adopting new approaches at the strategic level and when it comes to planning individual developments.

Better planning, better transport, better places also provides practical solutions to tackling the challenge of climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Derek Palmer (TPP, FCIHT, FCILT) will be speaking at the event.  He is an economist with degrees from the Universities of Liverpool and Birmingham.  He is also a qualified transport planner and project manager with considerable experience of research, policy development and practice.  Derek has a thorough appreciation of the public policy issues confronting both local and national government.
