The DfT is consulting on transport appraisal and TPS is working on a submission for the 15thOctober deadline.  The consultation is available on:

https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/transport-appraisal-and-modelling-strategy-informing-future-investment-decisions.

TPS is asking members for their thoughts on this, and there is already a lot of data from the annual members’ survey.  Keith Buchan, who is co-ordinating the TPS response, has written a thought piece following on from the debate in Local Transport Today about whether time savings or changes in land values should be the inputs for a cost benefit analysis.  You can read his discussion opener here.

This is your chance to get in touch if you have a particular point you think should be covered or an illustration of where current practise could be improved, or where WebTAG has either been a help or a hindrance.  People often say the latter, but do you have specific examples?

To support this process Landor is organising a conference in London on the 19thSeptember with range of speakers with including several former and current Board members and supporters: Peter Jones, Keith Mitchell, Nicola Kane, Martin Tugwell, Tom Van Vuren  and Keith Buchan.  DfT heads of appraisal and modelling Mark Ledbury and Robin Cambery will also participate.  We have negotiated a 20% discount for TPS members who should use the promo code TPS20 when booking.  Details on:
