The People's Award

The People’s Award: communities show transport planners what works

As a member of the public have you been involved in a transport initiative? Has transport improved your everyday life, community or town?

Every year the People’s Award highlights best practice in sustainable and people-focussed transport planning.

We invite communities to nominate an initiative that has made a difference to their lives. It is an opportunity for people to tell the professionals what good looks like.

Individuals, community groups, local politicians, charities, campaigners, Parish Councils and Town Councils can nominate a transport planning initiative. We want you to tell us about transport projects that have made a difference to your local community.

The Award looks for projects that have involved people in the planning and improved access to services, quality of life and well-being. Local authorities and transport professionals can nominate initiatives as long as they have engaged the community.

To qualify for entry, initiatives must have been in operation for at least one year.

Entries must be able to show how the outcomes have made a positive contribution to the principles of transport planning (PDF).
