Consultant / Senior Consultant / Principal Consultant / Associate level

Job Description

ITP is an award winning and creative transport planning consultancy – with a clear focus on working in partnership with our clients to achieve more sustainable transport outcomes as a result of their projects.

We are looking for highly motivated and ambitious transport planners from Consultant through to Associate level to support our growing development planning team in Birmingham.

As a Consultant / Senior Consultant you will be expected to:

  • Manage small to medium sized projects for local authorities and private developers under the guidance of the Project Director
  • Manage, analyse, interpret and visualise transport data sets to support larger projects across all areas of transport planning - including proficient use of TRICS, TEMPro and traffic distribution techniques
  • Prepare Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Construction Traffic Management Plans and bespoke client documentation
  • Undertake junction capacity assessments using industry standard modelling software (ARCADY, PICADY and LinSig) - an interest in learning Microsimulation modelling would be advantageous
  • Complete AutoCAD preliminary design and swept path analysis -  or seek to undertake internal training
  • Liaise with stakeholders and present information to them in an engaging way
  • Be seeking to make your next professional step, by taking a leading role within a defined technical area

In addition as a Principal Consultant / Associate you will be expected to:

  • Manage the above range of projects
  • Supervise and train junior members of staff
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Contribute to business development using an established network of industry contacts

The ideal candidates will have many of the following skills/experience:

  • Creative approaches to dealing with complex transport planning issues 
  • Good understanding of transport policy and strategy issues
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong report-writing skills Chartered Engineer and/or TPP qualified
