Senior Consultant Level Transport Planner

Job Description

ITP is an award winning and creative transport planning consultancy that employs the very best transport planners and provides an environment in which people can flourish and develop fulfilling careers.  We recently joined forces with Royal HaskoningDHV – expanding both the horizons we can offer our people, and the range of interesting and socially impactful projects on which we work.

We are currently looking to recruit senior consultants and would be interested to hear from prospective candidates who are seeking to take their next professional step as a transport planner.  The ideal candidates will be enthusiastic, people-orientated individuals, with strong report-writing, research and analytical skills, and a desire to quickly move into a position of responsibility.  Importantly you should share our belief that transport planners have a responsibility to help create more sustainable places.

Although based in one of our UK offices and with some flexibility with regards remote working, projects may involve working across the UK and overseas.  You will be given the opportunity to accelerate your career by working alongside industry experts, within an inclusive and caring company environment.  You will be expected to:

  • Manage small to medium sized projects for local authorities and private sector clients under the guidance of the Project Director
  • Start taking a leading role within a defined technical area
  • Manage time effectively, working with colleagues to deliver to scope and budget
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, helping to secure new work
  • Proactively contribute to company growth through business development activities
  • Inspire and develop less-experienced members of staff by freely sharing your knowledge

We think the ideal candidate will have:

  • Exceptional transport planning technical skills and experience in areas of relevance to ITP
  • A sound understanding of transport policy and current issues in the UK and/or internationally
  • Knowledge and skills to extract and analyse complex data sets to derive valuable insights
  • A growing network of industry contacts and positive client referrals
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
  • Excellent report-writing skills

We offer a flexible, friendly, informal and inclusive working environment, exciting project opportunities, and a competitive remuneration package, including salary sacrifice schemes and flexible working.  If the idea of joining us appeals, please send your CV and covering letter (including expected salary) to Jim Bradley (bradley@itpworld.net), or for an informal and confidential conversation call Jim on 07970 775481.

We are an equal opportunity employer.
