Principal / Associate Level Transport Planner - Smarter Travel

Job Description

ITP is an award-winning transport planning and research consultancy based in the UK.  We work with some of the world’s foremost city authorities, transport operators, property developers and funding agencies to plan, design and deliver highly sustainable mobility networks and places that seek to improve the way the world moves.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced transport planner to join our Smarter Travel team.  You will be expected to lead a range of UK projects to include delivering travel plans and other smarter travel interventions, active travel measures and strategies for public and private sector clients.  You will be based in one of our UK offices, but your work will involve you travelling to different locations from time to time – travelling to meetings and collaborating with clients, as required by the projects.

We expect the right candidate to have around 8-15 years’ experience, and come equipped to:

  • Lead smarter travel projects for a range of clients in the public and private sectors
  • Manage time effectively, working with colleagues to deliver to scope and budget
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, helping to secure repeat work
  • Proactively contribute to company growth through business development activities
  • Inspire and develop less-experienced members of staff by freely sharing your knowledge

We think the ideal candidate will also have:

  • A sound understanding of behaviour change theory and an appreciation of the factors influencing mode choice
  • Specialist knowledge in the application and evaluation of smarter travel measures
  • Experience of establishing and coordinating area-wide travel plans and business travel planning networks for a range of organisations
  • A deep understanding of transport policy and current issues and creative approaches to dealing with them
  • Exceptional communication and engagement skills
  • Excellent report-writing skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • A growing network of industry contacts and positive client referrals
  • A TPP (or similar) professional qualification

As well as being a great place to develop your technical and professional skills, ITP offers: a flexible, friendly, informal and collaborative working environment; exciting project opportunities; and a competitive remuneration package - including salary sacrifice schemes and flexible working.

If the idea of joining us appeals, please send your CV and a covering letter (including expected salary) to Jim Bradley (bradley@itpworld.net), or for an informal and confidential conversation call Jim on 0203 300 1810. Further information on ITP is available at www.itpworld.net.

We are an equal opportunity employer
