Associate Director - Transport

Job Description

WYG’s Leicester and Birmingham Transport teams are leading providers of expert transport services and advice into the public and private sectors, working on a wide range of high profile projects. We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially focussed Associate Director, specialising in in Public Transport Operations and Intelligent Transport Systems.

Your Role

You will deliver best practice advice in line with relevant policy, including DMRB, MfS and WebTAG. You will be responsible for analysing data, constructing logical arguments and communicating these effectively and professionally with the team, to clients and other professionals. You will manage projects technically and financially, guide and direct junior staff, and deliver transport projects, to time and budgetary constraints. You must always have confident and professional manner, with the ability to create and develop client relationships. You will be preparing fee proposals and you will provide technical inputs to major tenders. 

About You

We are looking for an ambitious and experienced individual. You may be an Associate looking for your next, great opportunity. You may already be an Associate Director, with the vision of progressing to Director in the short term. This is something WYG can offer you. You must have a good, all-round knowledge of the UK transport planning system and the workings of local government, with a particular focus and specialism in Public Transport, including Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). You will be experienced in the preparation of Transport Assessments and Travel Plan Reports, with excellent knowledge of transport scheme design and appraisal. You will demonstrate knowledge of and previous use of software packages, including ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG, TRANSYT and TRICS. You are required to have knowledge of the principles of strategic transport modelling, or prior experience of using SATURN and VISUM software.
