Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a career minded and technically able Transport Planner to join our existing team in the Nottingham office.

You will provide technical support into assigned projects for the successful delivery of technically challenging transport planning schemes. We operate across a range of marketplaces so you will have the opportunity to gain experience of working on a wide and varied portfolio of projects which will enhance your skills and test your technical knowledge.

You will work in collaboration with other disciplines and acquire the knowledge and practical skills required to succeed. Responsibilities of this role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with analyses relating to traffic and transport planning projects including the use of spreadsheets and traffic modelling software.
  • Assisting with the preparation of technical reports and presentations relating to the project as required in line with company and client requirements as well as national standards and codes of practice.
  • Presenting information in a clear, accurate and professional format.
  • Managing junior members of staff.

Skills and Knowledge

·You will hold a BEng / BSc in Civil Engineering although consideration will be given to degree’s held in associated fields of study.

  • A minimum of 4-5 years of experience.
  • Experience in writing technical reports including Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
  • Experience in using junction modelling software including ARCADY, PICADY, LinSig.
  • Experience in using other related software including TRICS and TEMPRO.
  • Have experience using AutoCad and AutoTrack.
  • Apply technical principals including codes of practice and standards.
  • Good IT skills including using Microsoft Word for report writing and Microsoft Excel for undertaking calculations.
  • Interest in gaining experience and skills in both technical and commercial areas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Planning and organisation skills.
  • Personal effectiveness.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
